ohoho portfolio stuff~
i'm not really finished with this yet, but i seem to have hit a roadblock and have no idea what else to do with this. ;A;
this thing is pretty big, my scanner cannot even begin to comprehend it aagh. there's an extra good 10 cm of blank space to the left because i love negative space ahaha.

GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS GUYS.
this is sort of a play on the traditional hansel and gretel idea, but i still haven't thought up a nice way to incorporate the rocks/breadcrumbs. maybe i'll just have them dropping all over the place behind them IDEK.

oh, and because i know people will ask: gouache and graphite. also, i think for the moment i'm going to watermark all of my portfolio stuff. LIKE A BOSS.

Maybe you wouldn't need crumbs? If I remember the story correctly, they ran together because 1) they were *following* crumbs, 2) finally lost their way, or 3) found their way back home. Perhaps you could insert a bird tittering on a branch. But that means more trees :-O

I love your style, bytheway. The simplicity of the bodily expressions and colors is something I struggle to achieve. I make my stuff too complicated xD, as in I put too many details (brushstroke here, there, everywhere, color dabs one of purple then red then yellow, and maybe green???????????) D-:

i'm still learing a lot about expressions and movement though.
i love details too, but for this particular piece i wanted to focus on colours and poses. xD

On second thought, they were together entering the woods, too... I suppose you're right about the little bare atm., but I also feel like it is finished? As an other creepy suggestion, if possible you could add more space around the left side and draw the witch's house in a distance. It looks like the subjects are running toward something important as the girl is a little hesitant. xP
